ABOUT ME

  • I am a multi-modal collage artist with a curatorial approach to gathering and arranging movement, sounds, textures, and images.

I work across multiple mediums, from creative writing, photography, video, performance, and physical media including ink, graphite, crayon, and markers.

I then create digital, physical, and video collages incorporating both original and found sounds, videos, images, and more.

I am particularly interested in creating immersive experiences, installations and sonic landscapes through this approach.

  • Through my works I articulate my interest in afrofuturism, worldbuilding, identity formation, belief system formation, and unrefined joy and pleasure.

  • As a multidisciplinary artist, curator, and educator, I believe the intersection of these three lenses is important in creating art experiences and learning environments that inspire people to dream.

  • As a learning scientist with an MSEd, my approach to teaching and learning seeks to challenge traditional models for knowledge creation, by affirming the affective knowledge of Black, brown, and queer communities through inquiry, critical reflection, and hands-on activities.

As a teaching artist, I apply learner-centered pedagogical practices to create workshops, presentations, curriculum, and interactive making opportunities where learners are supported in their exploration of my approach to art making, and the ideas in my artworks and curated shows.

  • I’m interested in freelance, part time, and full time work doing the following:

    • developing and presenting workshops on collage, worldbuilding, creative writing, and other topics

    • guest lectures and presentations

    • commissioned private and public artwork

    • curriculum development

    • and more!
